Anchor Boy Sports Day 2003/4

The Anchor Boy Sports Day was be held at Denbigh High School on Saturday 3rd July as part of the Battalion end-of-session event.

The results were as follows:

Object:

• To get as many Boys as possible to participate,
• and that a good turnout for the Battalion Celebration Service is also achieved.

Teams: 1 Team per company, to be made up, of as may boys as you can get there.

• Each Event will be allowed a certain number of Boys per Company.
• But ONLY the first boy from each company will score points for that company.
• Companies are requested to colour co-ordinate their teams for clarity if possible.

Upon Registration, Teams will need to notify ALLAN TRESIDDER, which boys will be competing in each event.

Points will be scored

• 1 Point for taking part
• 3 Points for reaching a final
• 5 Points for a 3rd Place
• 7 Points for a 2nd Place
• 10 Points for a 1st Place

These points will be applied to a Master Scoreboard.

Where a Company has 2 boys in a final;

• Their highest place boy would score points
• Their 2nd Boy would then not score - but could stop another team from scoring

i.e. Company A: Finish 1st and 2nd, They get 10 Points for 1st, and NONE for 2nd
      Company B: Finish 3rd. They get 5 Points for a 3rd Place

Egg & Spoon Race

• Heats & Final
• Max 2 Boys per Company per age/year
• AB Yr1, AB Yr 2, AB Yr 3

Welly Wanging:

• Heats & Final
• Max 2 Boys per Company per age/year
• 3 Throws to Qualify for Final - 2 more Throws for finalists
• AB Yr1, AB Yr 2, AB Yr 3

Sack Race

• Heats & Final
• Max 2 Boys per Company per age/year
• AB Yr1, AB Yr 2, AB Yr 3

Team Events - Any age combined to make the teams

4 Legged Race

• Heats & Final
• Each Team is made up of 3 boys tied together - any age
• Max of 2 Teams per company

AB Tug-of-War

• Heats & Final
• Teams of 4 Boy - any age
• Max 2 teams per company

AB Obstacle Race

• Heats & Final
• Teams of 4 boys - any age
• Max 2 teams per company

AB Sprint Relay

• Heats & Final
• Teams of 4 boys - any age
• Max 2 teams per company

Every company needs to provide at least 1 person to assist in running the events.

The amount of heats and finalists will be set for each event on the day, dependent on entries to each event. Likewise, a timetable for the events, will also be published.
