Summer Event 2005 - Company Section Unihoc

The Company Section Unihoc will be held at Denbigh High School from 2 pm to 4 pm on Saturday 2nd July as part of the Battalion Summer Event.

Teams shall comprise of 5-8 boys:

UNI-HOC RULES

  1. Each game will start with a bully-off.
  2. There is no off-side.
  3. Only the goalkeeper is allowed in the goal area. He and his stick must stay in the area.
  4. A penalty will be awarded to the attacking team if the goalkeeper or his stick leaves the area, or a defender goes inside the goal area. A free hit may also be given to the defending team if an attacker goes into the area.
  5. Only goalkeepers are allowed to pick up or kick the puck. A free hit will be awarded if any other player deliberately handles the puck or blocks it with his body. Goalkeepers should also keep hold of their stick at all times.
  6. Players must not raise their sticks above waist height otherwise a free hit will be awarded against them. If this is done repeatedly or if the player is behaving in an unsporting manner, he will be sent off.
  7. All players, including the goalkeeper, must be on their feet when playing the puck. Goalkeepers can dive, but must be on their feet prior to playing the puck.
  8. When a free hit is given, the opposing team and their sticks must retire TWO metres.
  9. No pushing, barging or backing is allowed.
  10. The Goalkeeper can only throw the puck out underarm and it must bounce once in his half or a free hit will be awarded to the other team on the half way line. They can either kick or hit the puck out with their sticks if they wish.
  11. Throwing of a stick will result in a penalty and a possible sending off.
  12. If a team is awarded a free hit within 3 meters of the opponents goal, the puck cannot be played directly forward. Free hits elsewhere are direct and can be shot on goal.

THE DECISION OF THE REFEREE IS FINAL

To all officers - to keep the competition running smoothly please ensure your teams are ready and waiting before their game is due to start. Please also be prepared to referee.
