Unfortunately some art work did not comply with rule 2 (had stickers etc. stuck on or was mounted) and so was judged with these issues taken into consideration.

The rules for the art competition are below.

  1. The theme for the art competition is to design a logo that we can use for our Battalion's 125 year anniversary. Hopefully the logo will be used on the front of the programme for the Corn Exchange Celebrations and other BB125 related events/publicity.
The National BB theme for the 125 celebrations is 'hope' so maybe you could base a logo on that. You may have a much better idea and so could do whatever you wanted. If you are stuck for ideas you may like to include some of the following words or themes:
BB125, Hope, Life, Adventure, 1883-2008, Living the Adventure, Life is an Adventure, Boy's Brigade Anchor, West Anglia Battalion.
  2. Entries can be in any two dimensional media, but should be strictly 2 dimensional (i.e. nothing stuck onto the background). Entries must be no larger than A4 in size and submitted unmounted.
  3. The competition will be judged in the following age groups:
    Anchor Boys

    School year

    5-6

  4. A Company may submit up to two entries per age group (up to 6 per section). Younger boys' work may be submitted in an older age group.

  5. All entries should be submitted to the organiser by 30th November. The following information should be included on the back of each entry. Boys Name, Age, Company and age group entered.
  6. Where possible all judges will be independent of the battalion. All judging is to be completed by January 15th and results announced by email shortly afterwards. The boys work will be on view at the July 2008 event.
  7. One each of first, second and third place will be awarded in each age group. In addition an unlimited number of "Highly Commended" will also be awarded in each age group.
  8. Points will be awarded in each age group as follows:
    1st place: 5
    2nd place: 4
    3rd place 3
    Highly Commended: 2
  9. Each company's points will be added together to work out the final placings in each section. Battalion points will then be awarded in line with the usual scoring system.

If you need any more information contact the competition organiser  Angela Hathaway.
