The Anchor Boy Potted Sports will be held on Saturday 23rd January from 2 pm to 4 pm at Newport Pagnell Baptist Church. Please arrive by 1.45 pm so we can get off to a punctual start.
Boys should come wearing Anchors blue polo shirt and/or red sweatshirt with suitable joggers, trainers etc.
Boys should wear a sticker or badge with their name and company so we know who's who.
Rules:
- Teams should consist of four boys.
- Companies may enter more than one team.
- Start begins on one blast of the whistle.
- End of the time will be indicated by two blasts of the whistle.
- Boys should take turns continuously until the stop signal is given.
- Score cards should be given to the marker to record final scores after each event.
- Each game will last for 5 minutes with 2 minutes break in between.
- The same adult is to stay with the same game throughout the competition to standardise scoring for each event.
Final scoring -
- The team with the highest points in a game will be given 1 point for that game.
- The team with the next highest points in a game will be given 2 points for that game.
- The next 3 points for the game and so on.
- The points for the team that comes last in a game will depend on the number of teams present.
- The game points for each team will then be totalled and the team with the lowest points will win.
- In the event of a tie the team with the highest number of 1st places will win.

The games are:
- Bean Bags in Hoops - see diagram - points gained by throwing the bean bags into the hoops, 1 point for large hoop, 2 for middle & 3 for small.
- Burrowing beavers- 2 by 10 chairs, boys crawl under them and back to the start. 1 point is given for every time the course is completed.
- Skittles - similar to 10 pin bowling - 1 point scored for each skittle knocked down.
- Balls in Bucket - 1 point for each ball that lands inside the bucket.
- Snakes and Ladders - sum of group for the spot a counter is on when the time is up.
- Skip-a-roo - Each boy skips 5 times then passes onto the next. 1 point for every 5 skips completed.
- Jumping - Each boy jumps sideways over a line 10 times then passes onto the next. 1 point for every 10 jumps completed.
- Dribbling - each boy dribbles in turn around 5 cones there and back. 1 point for each completed dribble.
- Jenga Tower - how high in centimetres can you build a jenga tower?
- Cartoon characters - How many can you identify? Adults to write what boys say on answer sheet.
- Jigsaw - the time taken to complete it / the number of pieces completed.
- Put Playing Cards in Order - 1 point gained for each card in the correct order.
