Rules
Each company can enter any number of teams consisting of three junior boys, no more than one of whom may be a third year, who will compete for the Battalion Bible Quiz Trophy. The highest scoring team will count towards the Champions' Cup. Once again local Girls Brigade companies have also been invited to enter teams but obviously they will not be competing for the Battalion Trophy.
The quiz will include a general Bible knowledge round, a round based on books of the Bible and spelling and a number of rounds on the theme "Jesus and Journeys" based on the passages shown below. Let me emphasise that the questions will all be set using the GOOD NEWS translation. It is a team quiz and all the teams will have the same questions and be required to appoint a scribe who can record their agreed answer.
Bible passages on the theme "Jesus and Journeys"
Luke 2: 41 - 52. Jesus' journey as a boy.
Luke 8: 22 - 25. Jesus' journey on a boat.
Luke 10: 25 - 37. Jesus tells about a journey.
Luke 18: 35 - 43. Jesus heals as he journeys.
Luke 19: 1 - 10. Jesus stops as he journeys.
Luke 19: 28 - 40. Jesus' journey on Palm Sunday.
Luke 24: 13 - 35. Jesus' journey to Emmaus.
Would all companies please confirm their attendance and the number of teams they are entering OR OTHERWISE to Amos Salisbury by 13th March.
Thanks to Amos Salisbury for organising the competition and to 3rd Bedford for hosting the event.
