Anchors and Juniors Art Competition

The theme for the 20010/11 Art Competition is "Neptune". Neptune was discovered in 1846, it celebrates its 1st birthday in 2011. (1 Neptune year = 165 earth years). 

Rules:

Medium: Paint, pastels, felt tipped pen, crayons, pencil crayons and/or pencil on A4 white paper.

The deadline for entries to be received by Tanya Setterfield c/o 4 Goswell End Road, Harlington, Dunstable, Beds, LU5 6NZ is 31st May 2011.

The rules for the art competition are below.

  1. The theme for the art competition is "Neptune".
  2. Anchors should submit a picture of an alien who lives on the planet Neptune.
  3. Juniors have been invited to Neptune's first birthday party and should submit a picture of the space craft that they're going to get there in as they're passing planets, moons or star constellations on their journey.
  4. Entries must be in paint, pastels, felt tipped pen, crayons, pencil crayons and/or pencil on white A4 paper.
  5. Nothing may be stuck to the paper, i.e. collage is not permitted.
  6. Entries should not be mounted in any way.
  7. The competition will be judged in the following age groups:

  8. A Company may submit up to two entries per age group (up to 6 per section). Younger boys' work may be submitted in an older age group.
  9. All entries should be submitted to the organiser by 31st May. The following information should be included on the back of each entry. Boy's Name, Age, Company and age group entered.
  10. Where possible all judges will be independent of the battalion. The results will be announced at the July 2011 event.
  11. One each of first, second and third place will be awarded in each age group. In addition an unlimited number of "Highly Commended" will also be awarded in each age group.
  12. Points will be awarded in each age group as follows:
    1st place: 5
    2nd place: 4
    3rd place 3
    Highly Commended: 2
  13. Each company's points will be added together to work out the final placings in each section. Battalion points will then be awarded in line with the usual scoring system.
