Anchors and Juniors Art Competition 2012/13

The Anchors and Juniors have different rules this year, so please read carefully!

The theme for the Anchors art competition is A Tropical Fish Tank.

Rules for Anchors:

Medium: Paint, felt tipped pens, crayons or pencils on A4 white paper

The deadline for entries to be received by Sue Thatcher at 23 Brookes Road, Flitwick MK45 1BU is 31st May 2013.

The rules for the art competition are below.

  1. The theme for the art competition is A Tropical Fish Tank.
  2. Entries must be in paint or felt tipped pen on white A4 paper.
  3. Nothing may be stuck to the paper, i.e. collage is not permitted.
  4. Entries should not be mounted in any way.
  5. The competition will be judged in the following age groups:

    The theme for the Juniors is A Trip to the Fair.

    Rules for Juniors:

    Medium: Collage

    The deadline for entries to be received by Mel Quinn c/o the Church Office, Central Baptist Church, 52A Park Street, Luton LU1 3ET is 31st May 2013.

    The rules for the art competition are below.

    1. The theme for the art competition is A Trip to the Fair.
    2. Entries must be in collage on white A4 paper or card.
    3. The picture should be built up entirely from elements stuck to the paper.
    4. You can use whatever you like to create the collage, including coloured paper, fabric, foil, dried food (e.g. pasta), etc.
    5. There should be no visible pen or pencil marks in the finished entry (you may use a pen or pencil to draw your original idea onto the paper, but is should be completely covered by the collage).
    6. Entries should not be mounted in any way.
    7. The competition will be judged in the following age groups:

  1. A Company may submit up to two entries per age group (up to 6 per section). Younger boys' work may be submitted in an older age group.
  2. All entries should be submitted to the organiser by 31st May. The following information should be included on the back of each entry. Boy's Name, Age, Company and age group entered.
  3. Where possible all judges will be independent of the battalion. The results will be announced at the June 2013 summer competition.
  4. One each of first, second and third place will be awarded in each age group. In addition an unlimited number of "Highly Commended" will also be awarded in each age group.
  5. Points will be awarded in each age group as follows:
          1st place: 5
          2nd place: 4
          3rd place 3
          Highly Commended: 2
  6. Each company's points will be added together to work out the final placings in each section. Battalion points will then be awarded in line with the usual scoring system.
